Flying to Freedom
Healing from Ritual Abuse
Through My Life's Work and Flight
My childhood and young adulthood in Washington state were filled with extreme trauma. I am a survivor of satanic ritual abuse (SRA), familial trafficking, incest, and physical and emotional abuse. My healing began when I was finally able to leave my childhood home in my mid-20s. Years later, when my husband and I moved to Arizona, repressed memories of the abuse fully surfaced and my healing began in earnest.
Flying to Freedom is about how my life’s work and becoming a pilot helped me heal from the abuse. I wrote my book to not only shine light on SRA, but to show that regardless of the scars we survivors carry, we can find purpose, fulfillment, and joy in life.
Satanic ritual abuse (SRA) is a topic that is not understood or spoken about openly in our society. When survivors do share their experiences of it, they are often not believed or are unfortunately ridiculed. I wrote Flying to Freedom to shine light on SRA and to help educate the public about this heinous abuse, and to let survivors know that they are not alone.
Though my book contains needed descriptions of some of the specific tortures that satanic cults engage in, my intention was to show that even if we go through unfathomable abuse, we can still lead a life of meaning. For this reason, most of my book is about my life, my work, and flying.
